Armor art, race updates, and visual direction
The visual direction shown for Scars of Honor emphasizes more dimensional armor construction, race-specific fitting, and ongoing upgrades to faction and race presentation. Much of the material shown is explicitly work in progress rather than final in-game output.
Armor style direction
The team is described as moving away from armor that reads mainly as texture painted onto the body. Newer examples are presented as having more visible volume and layered form.
Several armor explorations are shown for classes such as mage, druid, ranger, and assassin. These are described as concept-stage or ZBrush-stage works rather than final textured game assets, but they are used to illustrate the intended silhouette and material depth of future equipment.
Visual effects on armor
Visual effects are presented as an important part of what makes an armor set feel impressive. The discussion treats VFX as a major contributor to the identity and atmosphere of a character's outfit, rather than as a minor extra.
Race-specific armor fitting
Because races have different body proportions, armor pieces are not simply stretched across every model. The described solution is to create fitted versions of the same item for different races so that a glove, for example, properly matches a Gronthar arm versus an undead arm.
To reduce unnecessary asset bloat, the system uses a shared base mesh where possible, with additional elements such as spikes attached through sockets rather than requiring a wholly new mesh for every variation.
Race updates
The races are said to have been remade or significantly upgraded visually, though those updates are not fully shown. Sun Elves are specifically mentioned in response to a request for spoilers, but the updated race work is reserved for a more dedicated reveal.
Early faction and wallpaper art
The stream also revisits some of the earliest Scars of Honor promotional art. The first website-era faction banners and one of the earliest wallpapers are attributed to an artist hired before Beast Burst Entertainment formally existed as a studio.
The earliest wallpaper is described as featuring several core races and factions, with some elements remaining relatively close to later designs and others changing substantially over time. Infernal Demons and Sun Elves are said to remain relatively close to their early concept direction, while the orc-like design is described as having changed more heavily.
