Mobile version progress and planned test timing
Scars of Honor is described as a cross-platform MMORPG in active development for both PC and mobile. The June 2024 update places particular emphasis on mobile readiness, optimization, and upcoming testing milestones.
Cross-platform development goals
The game is being built with mobile support as a core requirement rather than a later port. The update states that the visual overhaul is intended to work on mobile as well as PC, and that this requirement shapes both art production and technical decisions.
Optimization is presented as essential to the game's long-term success. The stated reasoning is that an MMO needs a broad player base, and excessively demanding hardware requirements would exclude too many players.
Mobile milestone target
The team states that it is actively working toward having the game available on mobile for the next major event. That event is later identified as a planned September milestone.
For that period, the stated goal is to test mobile optimization together with a larger-scale release of the new continent technology. The continent is not described as fully finished for that milestone, but as a larger environment intended to validate the tech and performance.
Mobile UI iteration
A work-in-progress mobile interface is shown. The layout includes a movement control area, skill buttons, potions, and a dash input.
The UI is explicitly described as exploratory rather than final. The team is testing icon placement, control density, and how combat actions should be arranged on a phone screen. UI customization for players is mentioned as a possible future option.
Competitive parity between PC and mobile
A major design goal is to keep mobile players competitive against PC players in a shared cross-platform environment. The update states that the team is working to keep both platforms on a level playing field.
This includes experimentation with targeting assistance and camera or facing behavior, especially for melee-versus-ranged encounters. One example given is helping a mobile melee character maintain orientation toward a selected target.
At the same time, the team rejects a fully automated combat model for mobile. Full autoplay is described as undesirable, and the intended solution is some degree of assistance that keeps the game active and responsive without removing player agency.
PTR and schedule adjustment
The update states that the next public PTR timing is being delayed by roughly two weeks. The reason given is the scale of the ongoing overhaul and the need to prepare a larger package for internal PTR testing first.
As a result, some of the newly shown visual and system changes are expected to reach public testing later than originally planned.
Other platform notes
Mac development is briefly described as progressing well, though no detailed platform roadmap is provided in this update.
