Full-loot PvP limits and the Morning Pass battleground

Scars of Honor does not present full-loot open-world PvP as a core model. The discussion rejects the idea of an Albion-style black zone where players can be attacked freely and lose their real equipment.

Rejection of open-world full-loot zones

A permanent PvP zone with full item loss is treated as unsuitable for the game's MMORPG structure. The main objection is that losing hours of progression or valuable personal gear to other players would be excessively punishing and would undermine the broader experience.

This position is reinforced through comparison with Albion Online, whose zone structure and item-loss rules are discussed as a major part of that game's identity. Scars of Honor does not present that model as desirable for its own world.

Morning Pass battleground

Instead of open-world full-loot PvP, Scars of Honor describes a battleground mode called Morning Pass. In this mode, players can lose gear on death, but the gear at stake is battleground-specific rather than part of their normal long-term progression set.

Players enter the battleground with equipment provided for that mode and can obtain stronger items during the match. If they die, those battleground items can drop. When they leave the battleground, they return to their normal gear outside it.

Intended effect of the system

Morning Pass is designed to preserve the emotional intensity of item loss without threatening a player's permanent progression. Death is still meant to feel meaningful, but the risk is contained within the battleground session.

This is presented as a way to capture some of the tension and excitement associated with loot-loss PvP while avoiding the destructive side of losing core character equipment in the open world.

Monetization boundary in PvP

The discussion also makes clear that PvP loot systems are not intended to be monetized. Paying for better battleground loot or better drops from PvP boxes is treated as an obvious form of pay to win and is rejected.
