PvP modes and guild-war concepts
PvP is described as a major pillar of Scars of Honor, with multiple competitive formats planned rather than a single battleground mode. The design goal is to support both structured competition and broader faction or guild conflict.
PvP formats
Planned PvP includes open-world PvP, arenas, and battlegrounds. Arena concepts mentioned go beyond standard team sizes and include unusual formats such as three-team matches where only one side survives, as well as one-versus-one and three-way survival-style encounters.
Battlegrounds are described in two broad forms:
Standardized-gear battlegrounds
One battleground type gives players gear specifically for the match. Equipment can improve during the match, but it is temporary and tied to that session rather than long-term character progression.
Progression-based battlegrounds
A second battleground type allows players to enter with gear they have earned through normal progression. This mode is intended to let players demonstrate the strength of their character build and equipment in a competitive setting.
PvP confidence and design intent
PvP is presented as one of the areas where the game aims to be especially strong. The discussion attributes this confidence to the preferences of the designers involved, particularly a strong interest in MMO PvP systems.
Guilds as social structure
Guilds are discussed as more than reward containers. The preferred view is that guilds should function as friend groups and social communities within the MMO rather than existing only for perks.
Guild war ideas
A possible feature discussed is guild-versus-guild warfare even between guilds on the same faction, allowing declared wars that turn members hostile to one another wherever they meet. Hardcore-server variants are also discussed hypothetically, including extremely punishing guild-war outcomes (discussion-level idea, not confirmed feature).
The broader theme is that guild systems should include more than chat and grouping tools, potentially extending into relationships, rivalry, and organized conflict.
