Class roster and class fantasy priorities

The recording discusses several classes in terms of both roster planning and fantasy appeal. A recurring theme is that classes should feel immersive and distinct rather than merely filling mechanical roles.

Paladin naming and role

The class previously referred to as Knight is described as having been renamed to Paladin. Earlier combat examples from older builds are tied to this class, especially in discussions of hybrid combat and mount-based abilities.

Pirate as a featured class concept

Pirate is presented as one of the game’s more unusual class choices. The class is described as drawing on a rich and underused fantasy space in MMORPGs, including swashbuckling themes and pistol-based ranged options.

The appeal is framed less as novelty for its own sake and more as the strength of pirate imagery and personality within a fantasy MMO setting.

Necromancer as a core fantasy class

Necromancer is treated as another especially important inclusion. The class fantasy is associated with raising skeletons and commanding the dead, and is presented as highly immersive.

The recording frames necromancer as a class that strongly supports the feeling that a chosen class should tell its own story and create immediate thematic identity.

Support-role class design

Healers and tanks are discussed at the class-design level as roles that often become unpopular when they are too passive or too dependent on interface management. Scars of Honor’s intended answer is to make healers more active and tanks more impactful, so that these classes remain engaging both in groups and in broader play.

Planned class rollout

The class rollout described in the recording is staged. The spring demo is expected to feature Paladin, Druid, Mage, and Ranger. Later milestones are expected to add more classes, with Priest, Pirate, Necromancer, and Assassin named as intended for early access or release-era availability.
